Google CEO and Employees Interview Barack Obama, Part One
Google CEO and Employees Interview Barack Obama, Part Two
Barack Obama on Tech Leadership and Innovation
Google and Apple are often regarded as the most innovative companies in the U.S., at least in the media. While this contention may be argued, it is noteworthy that early in the race, Google CEO Eric Schmidt and Google employees interviewed Barack Obama. Recently, Mr. Schmidt was the subject of a wide-spread video offically endorsing Barack Obama for President, the first video clip at the top of this post. The two-part interviews with Google employees follow in the other two video clips.
The fourth video from the top is a clip of Barack Obama speaking about leadership in innovation and technology. He champions an open Internet accessible to all, and Network Neutrality. Senator Obama also states that he will appoint a Chief Technology Officer and will allow citizens to track government grants and voice their opinions online before decisions are made, if he is elected President. Be sure to watch this video clip to hear about some of his other initiatives for innovation in the United States.
As I mentioned in my previous post, Craig Newmark and numerous other tech leaders and venture capitalists have also endorsed Barack Obama, stating that he is the nation’s best hope for innovation and maintaining Net Neutrality. A video clip of General and former Secretary of State Colin Powell’s endorsement of Barack Obama is also available on that post.
Also noteworthy is that prominent leaders of Google, Apple and many other Silicon Valley companies have officially endorsed NO on California Proposition 8, in support of equal Constitutional rights for Gay and Lesbian citizens, regardless of how we define “marriage” in secular or nonsecular terms. The Wall Street Journal’s Kara Swisher wrote about it recently on her blog, All Things Digital. You’ll also find my own personal blog post about NO on Prop 8 on the Creative Sage Arts blog. I’m sure we can expect to read or hear about other political endorsements from the Tech sector in the next few days remaining until Election 2008.
